about canine corner

At Canine Corner, everything we do is guided by our mission statement:

  • Our mission is to provide every pet with top-quality grooming while minimizing any potential harm. We emphasize compassion and safety in all our services and products. While we strive to keep your pets looking their best, we firmly believe that compassion and safety should always come first. We do not endorse painful de-matting or any practices that could put pets or staff at risk.
  • Additionally, we create a social environment for your pets, allowing them to engage with others instead of being confined in crates during their visit. We believe that this promotes positive interactions with fellow animals and helps your pet release excess energy, ensuring they leave feeling calm and relaxed. All our products are safe for pets, and we are dedicated to maintaining a clean grooming environment at all times.

meet the canine corner team

Behind every calm visit and happy dog is a team that genuinely cares. Our staff is made up of experienced, patient professionals who understand that trust is built through consistency, kindness, and respect.

Chris

Co-owner

Chris is a Woodridge native with over 20 years of experience working with dogs — and a real soft spot for pups who need a little extra patience. He specializes in helping senior dogs and those who haven’t always loved grooming in the past, turning stressful visits into calmer, more positive experiences. After grooming in four different states, Chris has seen it all (including a few dramatic dogs 😉). When he’s not caring for pups at Canine Corner, he loves to travel and spending time with his son— but working with dogs will always feel like home.

Caitlin

Co-owner

Caitlin has been working with animals since she was just 12 years old, starting with horses before finding her way into dog bathing — where her passion for grooming really took off. Caitlin has always had a big heart for animals and now happily shares her life with her daughter and her fur babies--four dogs and two cats. She joined the Canine Corner family in 2022 and loves helping create positive, tail-wagging experiences for every pup that comes through the door. For Caitlin, working with animals isn’t just a job — it’s what she’s always loved most.

Torie

Co-owner

Torie’s love for dogs started early — around age 9 or 10 — when her dad would take her and her sister to dog shows, sparking a lifelong passion for pups. She began grooming professionally in 2018 after attending cosmetology school, where she quickly realized her creative skills were meant for dogs, not hair. From there, she took her talents straight into grooming and hasn’t looked back. A Darien native, wife, and mom of two, Torie loves being part of a shop where dogs are treated like family — and she wouldn’t have it any other way.

Becca

Manager & Groomer

Becca is a Woodridge native who’s been part of the Canine Corner family since she was just 15. Her love for dogs started early through dog sitting, where she quickly realized working with animals was her passion. Before joining the grooming world, Becca was a gymnastics coach — a background that comes in handy when working with energetic pups! She’s passionate about making both dogs and their owners happy, sending every pup home feeling sparkling clean. Becca is currently in school majoring in photography and hopes to combine her creative eye with her love for animals in the future.

a thoughtful approach built on trust

We know grooming and doggy daycare can be stressful for some dogs, so we focus on calm, patient care that prioritizes comfort and safety. Dogs are never rushed or forced, and whenever appropriate, they can enjoy a social, open-play environment instead of being confined to crates.

our promise to you and your dog

At Canine Corner, you can expect thoughtful care, calm handling, and a team that always puts your dog’s comfort first.
